Navigating The Festive Season… 🎅
Happy Wednesday! 💗
This time of year can cause some anxiety for gym girlies. You’ve worked hard all year, and you don’t want to derail your progress.
The holiday season is filled with joy and plenty of fknnnn delicious food. But it doesn’t mean saying goodbye to your goals. With a little planning and some simple strategies, you can enjoy the festivities while staying on track.
Here are my top tips to help you navigate nutrition this Christmas:
1. Focus on Balance, Not Perfection
Shift your mindset—holidays aren’t about being perfect. Aim to maintain your progress rather than pushing for more. A few indulgences won’t undo all your hard work, as long you stick to your non-negotiables.
2. Build a Balanced Plate
At meals, prioritise:
50% veggies for fibre and volume.
25% protein to keep you full.
25% carbs or treats for enjoyment.
Start with protein and veggies to help avoid overeating.
3. Be Mindful with Alcohol & Desserts
Alternate alcohol with water or soda to stay hydrated.
Choose low calorie, sugar-free alcoholic options.
Pick your favourite dessert instead of sampling everything.
Enjoy each bite mindfully—it’s about quality, not quantity.
4. Plan Ahead for Events
Have a protein-rich snack before heading out.
Check menus in advance if dining out.
Communicate your goals with supportive friends and family.
5. Keep Moving
Don’t stop training! While I’m not suggesting you hit the gym on Christmas morning, remember—there are 31 days in December. Even if you take off Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve, that still leaves 26 days to stick to your routine.
If you get those 26 days right, you won’t do any damage going off plan during festivities.
A little preparation can help you feel your best while celebrating this special time of year.
I’ll be running an exclusive online workshop soon for my clients, covering how to navigate nutrition during the festive season while staying on track with your goals. If this sounds like something you need, consider this your sign to join the team and secure your spot! 🎄✨
