Top 5 Facts You Need to Know About Fat Loss

Losing fat can be both exciting and challenging. With so much information out there, it's easy to get overwhelmed. Here are my top 5 facts to keep in mind that will help you navigate your way to a leaner you.

1. Spot Reduction Is a Myth

Unfortunately, you can't choose where you lose fat. Our bodies are genetically predisposed to store fat in certain areas, and some spots will naturally hold onto more fat than others.

2. Fast Fat Loss Isn't Sustainable

Losing fat quickly might sound appealing, but it's often hard to maintain. Rapid weight loss can lead to muscle loss, nutrient deficiencies, and a higher likelihood of regaining the weight. Slow and steady wins the race; aim for a moderate calorie deficit to lose fat gradually and sustainably.

3. No Food Is Off-Limits

A diet that includes foods you enjoy is one you'll stick to long-term. Incorporating "fun" foods in moderation can make your diet more enjoyable and increase its sustainability. Balance is key.

4. Weight Fluctuations Are Normal

Don't stress if the scale goes up. Weight fluctuations are perfectly normal and can be influenced by factors like hydration, salt intake, bowel movements and hormonal changes. Instead of focusing solely on the scale, use photos, measurements and how your clothes fit as progress metrics.

5. Every Diet Is a Calorie Deficit

At the end of the day, all diets work by putting you in a calorie deficit. Intermittent fasting puts you in a deficit by having a smaller eating window. Keto puts you in a deficit by eliminating an entire food group. There are no shortcuts or magic formulas. Just eat in a deficit.

I have an exciting announcement coming this week. If you're keen to get lean, stay tuned on my Instagram—you won't want to miss it. EEEEPP 😍

With love,
