Let me be blunt… your diet might be made up of “filler” foods.
Yes, you're technically hitting your protein target - but HOW are you getting there? The type of foods that you are eating matter. If it’s always with protein bars, custards, cookies, ice cream and all the trendy high protein snacks… you’re missing the point.
These foods might have protein, but they’re not actually nourishing you.
Whole Foods First!!
80 to 90% of your diet should come from whole foods.
That means:
Lean proteins (chicken, beef, tofu, fish, etc)
High fibre carbs (rice, oats, potatoes, legumes)
Plenty of vegetables
Healthy fats (olive oil, avocado, eggs)
These are the foods that will genuinely fuel your body, support your training, improve your digestion, and keep you full and satisfied.
"Health Snacks" Aren’t a Free Pass
There’s nothing wrong with including these in your diet, I’ll admit I fkn love a Muscle Nation Custard Bar. But just because something has protein slapped on the label doesn’t mean it’s helping you. If hundreds of your daily calories are coming from treats in disguise, you’re not really building a diet that’s working with your goals. You're just making it harder to stay full, feel energised, and actually see progress in your physique.
There’s a difference between hitting numbers and actually nourishing your body.
Real Food = Real Results
If you want to build a physique you’re proud of and FEEL GOOD in your body, you can’t rely on snacks to carry your diet. You need proper fuel.
Once you shift your focus to whole foods and stop treating protein bars like a meal replacement, you’ll notice a big difference.
More energy. Better digestion. Less cravings. And a body that starts to reflect the work you're putting in.
